Woops! Sorry I’m a little late on this, I was gone all day yesterday and totally forgot to write a post on this one.

Anyway, I try to provide the good things in life for my son, but every once in a while I have to slip a heap in there just to remind him of how good he has it. It is hard to appreciate good things if you have nothing to compare it to. Sometimes you have to let your kids experience the embarrassing things in life to help them fully grasp the good things, and it builds humility. I have met kids who always got the best and never had to work for it (hey humility can be work too), they’re little rats who don’t appreciate anything. If you want your children to appreciate what they get in life, then show them every once in a while what they could be getting. And the 1972 Pinto is about as good a lesson as it gets.
